Pet Hospice Support

Hospice care is about quality of life — not giving up. It's a philosophy of care that says: as long as your pet is here, they deserve to be comfortable, loved, and at home.

As a hospice advocate, my role is to support you and your family — not to replace your veterinarian. I can help you understand what to expect as your pet's condition progresses, talk through the questions you're not sure how to ask your vet, and help you recognize the signs that your pet is comfortable or in distress.

I can also help you think through what a peaceful, natural death at home might look like, and prepare you emotionally for that experience so you're not facing it alone and unprepared. When the time comes, I'm here for that too.

All medical decisions and treatment remain in the hands of your veterinary team. My job is to make sure you feel informed, supported, and at peace with the path you're on.

Our promise to you

Why I started
Goodbye at Home

Goodbye at Home has been a trusted name in Nevada County for many years, built by Dr. Linda Montgomery — a deeply loved provider who served this community with compassion and care before relocating to Texas. When Dr. Montgomery was ready to pass the business on, I was honored to carry it forward.

Animals have been at the center of my life for over twenty years. I've worked in rescue in many forms — raising bottle babies for Sammie's Friends, our local shelter here in Nevada County, and responding to disaster relief efforts including animals affected by Hurricane Katrina. Those experiences shaped how I think about this work: with steadiness, with tenderness, and with complete focus on the animal in front of me.

I'm a certified animal hospice and palliative care advocate through the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC) — one of a small number of providers in our region with this credential. It means I've been trained not just in the practical side of end-of-life care, but in the emotional and ethical dimensions of walking families through this season with skill and compassion.

I'm not a veterinarian, but I bring something different — a deep well of hands-on animal care experience, and a genuine understanding of what it means to love a pet through the hardest parts of their life.

I'm proud to continue what Dr. Montgomery built, and to serve the Nevada County community from our Grass Valley location. When you trust me with this moment, I don't take it lightly.
